Banana Fritters or Maruya - Filipino Delicacy

I have been trying to cook lately instead of just buying everything from the store to eat.

One thing that I decided to try to cook was the banana fritters. I have researched what the recipe is called because it is been a long time that I have not seen or tasted it.

It has a different name in my native language that until now I do not know what is the dialect name for it.

I have asked my sister, described to her what I was referring to. She remembers but not the name.

I found out that it is called banana fritters or maruya.

There are different ways to cook it and I just made a simple one here. I will definitely try the other ones later.

Believe it or not, it has been more than decades that I have not eaten it. So, it is been a long wait for me to do it.

Life is so busy that cooking the banana fritters has been pushed to the side.

I am glad that I finally made it. It turned out to be so tasty. It is a hard work worth waiting for.

Here is the video I made:

Banana Cue - Filipino Delicacy

I shared the banana cue I cooked to some of my colleagues. They all loved it. The second recipe I cooked that I shared to them. Occasionally I just buy food and bring it to work.

I do not usually share foods I made to others as I am not a good cook.

Anyways, I love the taste of ripe, ripe banana. So I made one and shared it with them. They all love this one better than the banana that is not that ripe. They love the taste of the caramelised sugar infused in it and made it more delicious.

There is no "saba" banana available so I used the plantain. The taste compares well with the "saba" one.

I have not put together the video for it yet.

I will post it here later.

The Beauty of Summer

Summer is the most enjoyable season for me. Enjoying the environment, going places is not a hassle. No need to wear extra layers of clothing, etc.

The beauty of nature has a lot to offer during summer time. Going places, wherever you turn to offers different kinds of beauty. Simply beautiful sites. Below is just some of the pictures I picked from my photo collections. Somehow most of my photos cannot be accessed from my phone to be shared here.

A link is attached to each pictures to watch more of the stunning beauty of summer.

Soup Bowls and Soup Spoons

One of the things that I want to improve is my cooking skill. I usually stick to what I know. Lately, I have been wanting  to learn more. Exploring how to cook some recipes that I haven't done yet. What comes with it is getting some utensils to complete it.

I bought the soup bowls and soup spoons below. I saw a simple recipe that I thought I can put a little twist to it's taste for my liking.

Below are the soup bowls and the soup spoons that I bought.

I cooked the rice porridge soon as I got these. It turned out well. I love it.
